Checking the solution from this link: serverfault.com/questions/446529/… Where you use the count parameter to limit the amount of bytes that are copied (based on fdisk -u -l output)

But that results in the image being the full 16GB again (it included the unallocated space)

Trying that now, I'm just hoping it doesn't copy all the device sectors but only the partitions (because windiskimager was copying everything)

What you describe here works perfectly. I just bought it and I know just enough Chinese to work through the menu's so I installed the language pack and it works like a charm. Every other day they block the Windows store but other than that it works fine :-)
