I'm Paul Lammertsma, co-founder and CTO of Pixplicity and co-founder of CrimsonBase. I occasionally speak at Android conferences and am a big advocate of open software.

I did both my bachelor and master at Utrecht University's Institute of Information and Computing Sciences.

I enjoy developing in many languages, including Java, C++, VB.net and PHP. Much of my published open-source work is based upon research during the course of following classes and completing projects in my master, Game and Media Technology.

comment Cannot change brightness on Sony VAIO Fit 15
The suggestion you've linked is ambiguous as one can also interpret it to simply mean that drivers for the keys are needed. In the OP I've illustrated that the keys are not the problem.

comment VAIO , brightness
When I click the power icon in the system tray of Windows 8.1, I see a pop-out showing me two different power plans with an option for "adjust screen brightness" and "more power options". I've changed the screen brightness value for the various power plans, to no effect. For which O/S are your instructions for?

comment Use Meld instead of Kompare in KdeSVN
%1 and %2 don't appear to be valid operators as Meld simply tries to open those strings as files. Perhaps kdesvn has changed the parameter types?

comment Can my Windows 8 computer turn on by itself?
This is not useful as the Event Viewer simply contains one entry that the computer resumed from sleep.

@MuhammadUmer Evidently you need to install Cygwin in order to get it working.
