If you are running Windows 8.1, and you have photos that contain exif (location) data, you can try out my app "Photrax" which is available as a trial via the Windows Store. Photrax generates pushpins on a map based on the photos you load into it, displaying the thumbnail of the photo and detailed information about the photo in an infobox when you select its pushpin.

I've also had fun with Google maps, as you can see here.
