Thanks! I bet that's it. PhpStorm is indeed a Java program, and your theory would explain why only some apps exhibit this.

We are the "IT staff" ;) I just don't know the ins and outs of Windows.

But Windows itself is in English too... that's what's confusing me.

What do you mean by "it doesn't work"? You'll have to be more specific if you want some help.

comment How can I batch shift the creation date of files on OS X 10.6.8?
Figured that out eventually, also I take back my previous comment about the script not working for me. It does. I'm not sure what I did wrong at first but it was my fault. Thanks again! I can now fix a bunch of video files which were shot on a camera with an incorrect date setting.

I have to admit your script doesn't work for me, but the most important thing is that you introduced me to SetFile and got me well on my way. I'm also don't understand the reason behind the quotes around some of the variables. Totally new to bash scripting.

comment How can I execute a script each time I log in and out from OS X?
Excellent answer. I'm sure it'll help someone in the future. Out of curiosity, if LoginHook is considered deprecated what would be the more current way of doing this?
