comment How can I stop files infected with ransomware from replacing my cloud backup?
For incremental backups, my initial thought was some sort of source-code-version-control-tool, but it doesn't fit well due to the nature of the files (which are mostly binary, not text). I'll do a little research to see if and what other software tools exist specifically for this type of task. Thanks for your answer.

comment How to remove User-Agent for Firefox
It works but a lot of websites stop working or work incorrectly when you do this. The most notable example is Facebook.

comment Is it possible for many domain names to share one IP address?
OK, so this means that, if you have an additional domain called X, then you can't have a subdomain called X on your primary domain because it would be a name conflict. It will probably be a situation most people don't run into, but still worth mentioning.

PS: Given how old Java is, it's not that unreasonable to think that it's older than me :D .

comment RAID array failure. False positive?
@BigChris I don't really know where the RAID controller interface is (it's the first time I use RAID). Like I said in the question: Pressing Ctrl+F leads me to a blank screen...

comment Which partition can I delete so that I can install Ubuntu?
@Ramhound Yeah I know but I also shaved off 11GB from the Windows partition, it should be enough for my purposes.

Thank you for your fast and very to-the-point answer. Regarding virtualization: I found that VMs tend to have performance issues, especially on laptops. It works pretty well, but it feels very un-natural to me. I do use them all the time for experimenting all kind of stuff, but for main usage I tend to stick to native installations :) .

comment How to use the Internet while Heartbleed is being fixed?
This is by far the most informative piece of text that I read about this new hot-crazy-critical Heartbleed attack (all other articles/blog/news posts contained just bits and pieces of information). Nice job :) .

comment Why are there 32-bit editions of Windows 8?
OK, but if an older server only supports 32-bit OSes, won't it be too old to run an OS like Windows 8 ? Just like you wouldn't install Windows 7 on a 10 year old PC that has just 512 MB RAM ?

+1 That hashutils thing is awesome. If you also put it in the classpath, it's even more awesome :D . Thanks.
