You need to put the "meat" of the subject to the links you have supplied. Links break and become useless to future visitors.

comment PC won't boot - Reasons unknown
I would suggest first looking at the stand offs and being sure you did not use too many. An extra stand off could allow for a short. I would suggest taking the board out. setting it on a table, 1 RAM, PSU, no HARD drives, and use a regular CPU cooler. See if it powers up. You could have a PSU and MOBO problem...Just because they are new, does not mean they are in working order. Had an ASUS MOBO that was bad twice.

comment Rear USB ports on my NUC pc are not working
I have noticed that sometimes Windows won't pick up on a driver need. Did you go to the Intel site and grab drivers from them? On some of my new builds, stuff won't be detected by windows until I install drivers (from Mobo dvd, or vendor site). From that point forward, Windows seems to see it and push in driver updates after that.

comment Can silicone screws safely contact CPU heatsink?
I think the make up of the product is similar. Reputable companies would do qc test to push product to fail to see just how much (heat in this case) it would take to kill it. Your CPU would shut down from over heating before the pins would melt on the heat sink. But, you can always check with Zalman

comment Desktop suddenly shut down and can't start
I had this issue, it was the Power Supply. The momentary fan and light situation is not a PASS on troubleshooting. If you have a spare try it.There is a way to put a paperclip in one pin hole and then the other end in a ground, but I am not positive so I am not directing you to that. but the PSU would either start (that eliminates the PSU0 or it won't and the PSU is the problem piece.

comment Can I connect my laptop's (VAIO VPCEB26FG) hard disk to my desktop's sata cable and to desktop's SMPS power supply and take data backup?
@Naresh - Simply, the connectors are SATA with 3.3 V supplied along with 5 V and 12 V supplies in the connector, they follow a voltage standard. If this were a Slim optical for example, it requires different set up / connector that allows 5.5 v vs 12v. Thus, the connector for SATA will not fit on a Slim Sata and visa versa. I have used laptop HDDs in my tower before from a scrap laptop for some storage.

@whs - That is the way things are done here. Quote the important aspect of the link. Give citation/credit to the actual author, provide link. You'll see if you hang around for a while. :)
