comment Brand new Acer Aspire V3-722G randomly restarts constantly
If someone suggested that you would have to pull it all apart, would you? You are best to RMA it and enjoy the warrantee realizing that defects happen. ;)

While this link may answer the question, it is better to include the essential parts of the answer here and provide the link for reference. Link-only answers can become invalid if the linked page changes.

What RAM did you recently install, the 6400 or 5300? Does it start normally if you go back to old RAM set up?

comment Windows fails to install when system has more than 4 GB of memory installed
Have you tried installing your original working set, then adding one new stick at a time? So basicly, get your system back up with the original ram. Shut down, pull power plug, drain power from board, get rid of static (ground yourself) install ONE new stick, then power up. If it passes post and bios and goes to windows, do the steps again adding the second new stick.

comment Are partitions to the inner/outer edge significantly faster
"Is the difference noticeable?" - When I switched from a platter to an SSD...that was noticeable, I could see and experiance the difference. When I changed graphics cards, I did not notice as big of a change although benchmark score were improved. If it can only be detected via a benchmark, than the diff. may not be noticeable. Like a fresh Windows install is noticeably faster to get going than one that has been on a system for a few years.

comment How can I render an SSD permanently inoperable with no chance of data recovery?
@brom954 - the challenge, as Bob has stated, is software solutions are not rendering the drive useless. There are areas on the disk that hold data that may not get touched - the provisioning area for one.

It would not be ecologically wise to incinerate and I can't store thermite at the house anymore...not after the last incident...jk

comment How can I render an SSD permanently inoperable with no chance of data recovery?
@Bob but this would have to be time effective as mass amounts of SSDs replace platters, more sensitive info is stored and a guaranteed method of making them unusable and data free is needed. I do not want a sledgehammer and x amount hours to destroy 100 SSDs. there must be a better, faster way.

@Bob - that seems to reaffirm my concern. There are a lot of "ifs" and "assumptions"

comment If RAM is cheap, why don't we load everything to RAM and run it from there?
The only other good thing about a RAM disk @ 128GB is it would actually be 128GB of usable space and not the 119 you get on an SSD or platter drives. :)

comment If RAM is cheap, why don't we load everything to RAM and run it from there?
That is how old I-ram idea is. Max 4 GB of 3200 DDR2 ram at a max 1.5 SATA I rate performance. Fast, but we have cheaper DDR 3 memory now.

comment How to install a new keyboard for my laptop
This is not how to install a keyboard...it is "will it work?" and really, who knows? The probability is based on the reality of damage. Just the keyboard damaged? Something on the mainboard shorted? Who can tell?

comment How do you turn on and off window repaint while drag moving/re-sizing window in Windows 7?
You should type out the entire process. Although the "selected answer" is checked now, it could change down the road and your comment will not make sense. Also, checking your steps + the "selected answer, I could get the result. I could not with the selected answer steps only. Just a suggestions ;)

comment What is the function of the four pins on my SSD?
Looking at Psycogeek's comment on other answer, there is actually a function of shorting two pins to enable "Engineering mode". This is directly for the OCZ SSDs, so not sure if it relates to Kingston or any other SSD that have the 4 pins available.
