comment How can I render an SSD permanently inoperable with no chance of data recovery?
@Bob - that seems to reaffirm my concern. There are a lot of "ifs" and "assumptions"

comment If RAM is cheap, why don't we load everything to RAM and run it from there?
The only other good thing about a RAM disk @ 128GB is it would actually be 128GB of usable space and not the 119 you get on an SSD or platter drives. :)

That is how old I-ram idea is. Max 4 GB of 3200 DDR2 ram at a max 1.5 SATA I rate performance. Fast, but we have cheaper DDR 3 memory now.

comment How to install a new keyboard for my laptop
This is not how to install a keyboard...it is "will it work?" and really, who knows? The probability is based on the reality of damage. Just the keyboard damaged? Something on the mainboard shorted? Who can tell?

comment How do you turn on and off window repaint while drag moving/re-sizing window in Windows 7?
You should type out the entire process. Although the "selected answer" is checked now, it could change down the road and your comment will not make sense. Also, checking your steps + the "selected answer, I could get the result. I could not with the selected answer steps only. Just a suggestions ;)

comment What is the function of the four pins on my SSD?
Looking at Psycogeek's comment on other answer, there is actually a function of shorting two pins to enable "Engineering mode". This is directly for the OCZ SSDs, so not sure if it relates to Kingston or any other SSD that have the 4 pins available.

comment What is the function of the four pins on my SSD?
@Psycogeek - would you consider posting this as an answer to be evaluated with the others? I like that there is an actual spelled out use, at least for OCZ.

comment Power Supply case measures 75V?
Home built computer? Were the correct amount of stand offs used for the board formfactor (ATX, Micro, etc)? Too many may be touching something to the case and mobo that was not intended.

While this link may answer the question, it is better to include the essential parts of the answer here and provide the link for reference. Link-only answers can become invalid if the linked page changes.

comment What is the purpose of the tiny ruler that I've just pulled out of the side of my Dell Latitude E6430?
It is kind of funny - this device to open letter (when we get e-mail) has a temp converter (when we can look it up on line) - but it is still pretty good use of otherwise useless plastic blank.

comment Upgrading a motherboard and keeping old Windows 7 installation
I learn something new everyday here, does sysprep work on other versions of windows (xp, vista)? This is great as I have been manually uninstalling drivers before swaps. Also, good tip on backup test having learned the hard way in the past.
