comment What characters are safe in cross-platform file names for Linux, Windows and OS-X
In zsh, characters that might be interpreted differently include []()^;, so I think the right answer might actually be [0-9a-zA-Z.,_-] Comma could also possibly be excluded just because it's weird to see in a filename, although I can't think of an actual case where it would cause problems.
