A related question can be found on StackOverflow which examines Firefox' behaviour in more detail.

Accepting this since it seems to work. There's an obvious security/annoyance risk with disabling this of course. From a related question's answer it seems like the popup dialog is shown if the time that passed since the last website popup is smaller than this value. Setting it to 1 would presumably work for the majority of cases while still blocking malicous javascript.

Downvoter: care to comment? I'm still evaluating this before I accept but this seems to work.

comment Can employer retrieve emails sent using work email after you delete them in outlook?
Hardware doesn't really factor into this question and ytour statement would be incorrect in several European countries where personal email for instance is protected against corporate oversight.

comment Outlook 2007 - repainting (?) problems when copying and pasting between windows: have to switch focus before pasted text is visible
Same issue in Outlook 2007 on W7. Pasting within same e-mail in "Keep text only" mode causes partial or total repainting problems. Changing to "Keep Source" resolves the issue.

comment Connecting 2 External Monitors to a Laptop?
Note that if you're content with a 2 display solution, it might seem like Windows won't let you use two external monitors. However, most GPU config panels (including those for HP internal cards) will still allow you to change this by going through the Graphics Options.

This is called an automatic update check. As nhinkle said, this is not the place to discuss or criticise the update.

comment Why are my games slower on battery power, even with the power plan set to High Performance?
@Mehrdad Presumably because the average consumer doesn't notice (or even care about) the reduced performance while power users know it to be an inherent limitation performance laptops. Even if it could run safely, you'd likely discharge the battery in half an hour so the use case doesn't even exist.

comment Is there a cap on simultaneously active Wi-Fi Access points in a single area?
I seem to recall an interesting story from an IT conference where reporters were tethering to their phones, generating hundreds of access points in a single hall. They wouldn't give much of a signal but will probably still pop up during an ongoing scan.
