comment File monitor (like Sysinternal's Filemon) for Linux?
File::Monitor, FAM, Gamin, inotify, etc. are all related, but don't sound like what Simon is asking for. Filemon lets you see all file operations on the whole system, whereas File::Monitor, etc are more for watching for file events on a single file or directory AFAIUI.

You can do one-off queries using ausearch and aureport, but if you want all information in real-time, then you have to write your own program. There's more information at the audit home page <people.redhat.com/sgrubb/audit/>;, but it's not easy to do.

comment Why are there so few Wireless N Dual Band adapter PCI cards, only USB adapters instead?
And even the Linksys WMP600N is not available in some countries like Australia.

comment Is it a good idea to put “screen -r” in my .bashrc?
It is on some distros if you choose "User Defined Session". On Ubuntu, it sources .profile explicitly, others call .xsession from inside a login shell, which would typically mean .bash_profile, and most users source .bashrc from inside their .bash_profile.

comment Remapping special keys on the keyboard
It might actually help to remove all Logitech software. Of course, if you're using a Logitech mouse, you might lose any special functionality.
