I'm a doctoral student at the University of Arizona. I also love helping people find answers to their questions.

Word 2013 switching to “All Markup” This happens even if I don't click on the file at all. I've watched it with the file in the background and another window in focus and it happens without switching back at all. |

Best online backup software This type of question doesn't really fit the Q&A style for Superuser. There is no correct answer to a question like this. |

Possible to grant access to my server without connecting by VPN? Is the server Windows, or your machine? You can use PuTTY for ssh on a Windows machine. |

Cannot connect to Wireless network on windows 8 I have had a similar problem since installing Windows 8. It tells me it was unable to get an IP address from the network. Sometimes running the Network Troubleshooter (right-click on network in taskbar, click "Troubleshoot Problems") helps. Not every time, but it's worth a shot. |

How can I get Windows 8 to stop asking me about mailto links? If I don't have the "Send from Gmail" extension, I can't use Gmail as the default handler for mailto links. I still want that behavior, without Gmail asking me every time I visit the site. |

Windows 7: “Open with” context menu not always available when I want it Have you tried first left-clicking inside the directory in Explorer? Sometimes I don't have the option, but it will show up if I click on a file (any file) inside the directory first. |

How can I get Windows 8 to stop asking me about mailto links? I've tried removing Chrome as a handler in this way, but still no luck. The popup returns if I'm using the extension. |

How can I get Windows 8 to stop asking me about mailto links? I don't allow Chrome to run in the background. That could be a fix, but I don't want it to run in the background. |

How can I get Windows 8 to stop asking me about mailto links? Just gave that a shot, but the popup came right back. |

How can I get Windows 8 to stop asking me about mailto links? I have already attempted to change the default mail client in the way linked here. Chrome is already listed as the default handler for mailto links. As you can see from the screenshot above, Win8 is asking if I want to "keep using Google Chrome" or switch to another application. What I don't understand is why it must keep asking. |

Git Always Prompts for Passphrase You may have to reboot, or at least log out and in. From the most up-voted answer here, it would appear the loading of keychain keys to ssh-agent happens at login. |
