comment How to set the Screen Saver Grace Period for Windows 8?
Worked once I changed it to a REG_SZ and removed the trailing space from the value name. Thanks!

comment How to mount a folder on one drive as a folder on a different drive?
Yes, that did it. I had a security issue on the target folder which was causing me grief.

comment How to use NetLimiter to regulate my upload bandwidth load?
So just set a global upload limit of 890 Kbps (below my cap of 893 Kbps) and I should be good? Want to make sure I am not missing anything.

comment Windows 7's PATH and environment variables are corrupted
I had the same problem. I found a few different things that triggered it (running certain programs, running installers, etc.) but no reason those would cause it (they work fine on other machines or in a VM.) Eventually I had other problems compounding the need to reinstall which fixed everything.

@Pavel Watch-out getting cocky about being a "professional programmer" and imune to viruses. Sure, being a responsible user who knows their way around the computer reduces the likelihood, but anyone can get a virus.

comment Should uploading a file on DSL kill the download speed?
@AndrejaKo: Yeah, I wish they offered a faster upload speed. My only option is to take a slower download speed.

comment Should uploading a file on DSL kill the download speed?
Point me to some of this priority software. Since I am uploading via Chrome nothing I can think of will throttle that upload without throttling all of Chrome.

So are you suggesting that because I am maxing out my upload pipe I am not able to make requests to download content simultaneously?

comment Skype: How to record a podcast?
@drozzy - Without Pamela Professional you are limited to really short recordings. I actually use Pamela Professional now and really like it. I started having recording quality issues with CallGraph. Although Pamela has its own headaches (like occasionally just not recording even when it says it is.)

comment Is it possible to disable the “scan and fix” message when inserting an SD Card?
I did some checking and this disables Shell Hardware Detection which Provides notifications for AutoPlay hardware events. Everything else I am reading online indicates this should be left on for other reasons. Kind of a throwing the baby out with the bathwater kind of thing. There are other service that depend on this one too.

This only fixes it until you accidentally eject it early again.

comment Why does an 8 GB and 16 GB USB drive have the same physical size but a different amount of storage?
Want to really blow your mind? Sometimes different sized drives will have the same storage chips internally, but the smaller drive had a failure when tested at full capacity, so it was retested at the lower size and passed. This used to be much more common than it is today however.

That would work. I was hoping for the ability to have multiple scales, or have the scale proportionate.

comment Plot disproportionate values in single graph with Excel
@Soandos: If I just stick the sales in the legend then the series with values in to 100,000 will be the only one showing fluctuation as the rest will be flat along the bottom of the graph since their maximum value is not enough to even be a blip at that scale.

comment Plot disproportionate values in single graph with Excel
@Soandos I could do some sort of reduction but then I am showing 10th of a unit in one series, and another would be in $10,000 of dollars. So I end up with odd groupings.

comment How to reset / reinstall the networking on Windows 7
There-in lies my problem. I have no adapters listed in that window. This is probably the correct answer for a functioning system.
