Are you up-to-date with patches etc? It wouldn't hurt, if you're not, to update to the latest Malicious Software Removal tool from Microsoft. Concur with techie007, have you tried what Symantec suggests?

I think you're safe to copy it to any location as long as your process points back to the file. You might also want to take a look at the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit. It's fantastic when it comes to imaging and capturing reference computers.

The video card is an add-in, the odd behavior comes from the card and the vga video connection on the motherboard. Would they both be routed through the add-in?
