A computer scientist at heart with a conviction for deduction.

I'm a poor mathematician but pretty decent with TeX. Let me return the favor!

TeX.SE rules.

Check out my blog over on @GitHub! It has (or will have) a lot of good resources:

  • StackExchange markdown reference (to link; things like explicit syntax highlighting and a short rundown of markdown)
  • Recommended TeX resources and editors

Insanely curious, slightly snarky, and a little absent-minded.

comment How many keyboard shortcuts are in Emacs?
There is simply no way to count them reliably. It's not hard to imagine that any editor worth professional usage will support adding shortcuts.

comment How can I fold arbitrary tags with nxml-mode?
Try it out with transform.xsl --- particularly the xsl:for-each on line 11 (but interestingly not the xsl:for-each on line 43).

@lawlist I discovered the active modeline group a little over a week ago---it's very helpful, but perhaps I'm just extremely unobservant :)

@lawlist The problem with that—near as I can figure with classical regular expressions—is that regular expressions cannot really handle nested things. That said, xsl:.* should cover everything I would like nested, although the ability to define a list of such tags to fold would be ideal.

comment Lisp error: (error “Lisp nesting exceeds `max-lisp-eval-depth'”) when using cl- functions
I just wanted to say thank you for this answer—it was still pretty instrumental in resolving :) I only accepted the other answer because it gave a why (and because I never would have thought I needed to re-install magit for this). I regret that I have but one upvote to give!

Deleting both cl-lib and magit, closing emacs, re-opening and re-installing magit (only) did the trick. Thanks!
