comment Is there a means to keep an unlimited cross browser history?
Have you found a solution that satisfies you? Sadly the link is dead.

comment If, else based on command piped to grep
+1 for the detailed explanation. May I ask, Where have you gained you Shell-Scripting skills? I would love to read something about the Shell, that goes into that detail, like that [ is a command, what probably seems very foreign to someone for whom knows only languages like Java or Python.

I decided to run TestDisk 6.13 at the least valuable hard drive and it worked! TestDisk found all the files remaining on the corrupted HDD. It would still be of interest, what a RAID controller is actually doing to a HDD, that it is not mountable any longer afterwards.

Could you go into some more detail? Why do I have to divide by 2048? Newer hard drives use 4096 byte (4 kB) sectors. Is the problem, that I have chosen an alignment of megabytes not sectors?

You said, you're not a Windows person, did it work on Linux? If your Ethernet (cable) connection works, you could try to download a Linux live system (Knoppix, Ubuntu, etc.) and check if your wireless adapter runs on the Linux live system. In Linux open a Shell/Terminal and enter rfkill list and look for a "Wireless Lan" device it has to be neither 'Soft blocked' nor 'Hard blocked'. ifconfig -a is a way too, to identify the installed devices. If there is no Wireless device listed on Linux, it could be defect. If you don't have the time to or it is broken, better contact the Lenovo support.

Is there a hardware switch on your notebook, to toggle WiFi? Press <kbd>Windows</kbd> + <kbd>R</kbd> and enter cmd. In the newly opened shell enter ipconfig; what does it say?
