comment How to raise/lower sound and brightness using keyboard only?
None of the combination seems to affect contrast, brightness nor sound. Please note that the question includes the sound volume as well. The only keys with bright/dark symbol are F1 and F2 and pressing those doesn't affect anything, neither...

comment Recommended way to create a bootable USB including the software used
@Ƭᴇcʜιᴇ007 Perhaps I explain it in a wrong way. I wish to have an image and I also wish it to be bootable. I've seen guides on both but not at the same time. Is it at all possible? I'd like to be able to boot up a computer with an empty HDD, stick the USB into it and make the process automatically set up everyth8ing for me. The restore process you're talking about requires that Windows already is installed and working on the machine, correct? I'd like my method to work even if the computer's got the partitions removed.

I might be slow on my brains, because I'm not getting a certain part of the process. It's the step #3 - make image - that I don't see. How does one "make image" of the system? I've done that when playing with virtual machines - that's easily understandable. But when I'm on my system and it's the physical computer - how exactly do I create an image and make it a bootable USB? Talk to me like if I'm five years old.

comment What's the correct way to start up the computer?
@GrahamWager Is this a comment or a reply? I won't be able to mark it as accepted answer if it's the former.

comment Start menu doesn't appear
Hmm... Now I'm worried. Since the button is grayed out and I won't be able to get them off-line, I feel a problem heading towards me... :(

comment Start menu doesn't appear
Hmm... I might be hitting another bug in Win10. I'm the only account on the system, according to the control panel's users section I'm an admin, I can run stuff as admin, I can assign other users as admins... Is it possible to download and install offline any of the updates?

The "Change settings" for Windows Update is grayed out. I'm not sure how to make it look for new updates...

But it worked until today... Same build. Different behavior. Weird... Also, how do I get the update once it comes? I can't start the windows update without the Start menu working, can I?

comment How to start a program using the keyboard when task bar isn't at the bottom?
It did work in Win 8. How can it "go back" to undone in Win 10=! I dislike waiting for good stuff, hehe. Darn... :(

comment How to start a program using the keyboard when task bar isn't at the bottom?
Not quite an answer to the question. In fact, when I tried it, it doesn't even work. The search window doesn't appear on the screen (when the task bar is at the top, that is). I believe the search mode is entered but the problem is that it doesn't show. Just by pressing Win and start typing I get the result I want but only when the task bar is at the bottom of the screen. More suggestions?

comment What version of Flash Player is suitable for Win 10 and where to get it?
The one that's built in the IE works improperly. I get something on the screen but it's incorrectly sized. Not sure if it's because the Flash built into IE sucks or the design of the page I'm accessing that sucks. But something sucks. Statistically speaking, I'd blame IE but things change and it might be something else.

comment How to emulate context menu key when there's none on keyboard?
@ṧнʊß Actually, the remark about Fn-key is important, because on the smallish keyboards, they're often in secondary use. I've activated them as primary key by CapsLocking them but I'll edit the reply to improve it from good to great.

@nhinkle Sadly, no. It's this tiny, minimalistic and circumcised keyboard from Surface...

comment How to emulate context menu key when there's none on keyboard?
@Keltari I beg to differ. When I'm in a window with a bunch of files, for instance, and mark one by pressing e.g. "a", it's very quick to press the key in question and then "s" to send the file to someone. I know a lot of people using it (none of whom is heavy on the rodent usage).

Why the downvote?!

comment How to open a second PowerShell console window from start screen?
Hitting middle mouse only opens the start screen on my computer. Perhaps a Win8 thingy? The other suggestion worked, though, as described.

comment How to take a screenshot of a window and not the whole screen?
Awesome, mate. There's only one thing missing in your reply - it's how to make a screenshot of the current window and save it to the pictures folder directly. But that's more of a MS blunder, so you're not to be blamed for that, hahaha. Very useful and comprehensive, +1.

Yeah, it's there. But sometimes it isn't... Tablet mode? How do I switch between desktop and tablet modes?!
