No, I'm not using any proxy, hostsblock doesn't require one.

Thanks! Your new answer is the best way to clear a recorded DNS (instead of cleaning everything up as in Ctrl+Shift+Delete). But to get rid of the problem permanently, I think my own answer fits better (I still have to test a little more just to be sure).

What you said would only apply to old versions of Chromium / Google Chrome. Newer versions do not have this setting anymore (neither "Under the Hood"). Maybe the new setting is "Predict network actions to improve page load performance"? Sadly, this does not mention any DNS, so I'm not sure.

Thanks for that. The only problem with installing the packages manually / building them from source is that they won't get updates, because they won't be integrated with the repositories and the package manager itself. It's too easy to find the source of the packages, but it is not very practical to get them updated manually.

comment Is there a way to snip part of the screen with a hotkey?
Thanks deizel. Sorry, I don't know why, but this hotkey isn't working anymore here, at least on the virtual machine. I know that before this was working here, but I can't remember if it was because of a program or if it was because of Windows itself. Maybe it was Alt Gr plus another key other than A, but I retried some combinations and nothing has happened.
