comment How to Airdrop between Mac and iPhone?
OK, I guess it's time to officially give up. I would still love to know the Why though - would allowing cross device transfers cut into sales of some other product? Why would they take the extra time to develop 2 separate and incompatible protocols?

comment How do I set Google Chrome to not allow javascript to hijack my right click menu
I am not trying to block all javascript. I only want to block javascript from intercepting right mouse clicks. Some browsers give you that option.

comment What does Amazon's MP3 downloader do that can't be done with a normal download?
However, this is probably as close to an answer as I'll get, as it looks like it is probably a marketing reason and not a technical one that they require it.

That answer gives one small possible benefit of using the downloader. It doesn't give a reason for why this is required, or why the obvious alternative (downloading the files directly from the browser) is not supported.

comment Disable ability of web pages to turn off my context menu in IE
Also, the javascript snippet you posted is helpful in many cases, but it doesn't work on the particular page that made me annoyed enough to post this question :)
