I am a Paramedic and a Firefighter.

I play with fire trucks, ambulances, cars, and computers for fun.

I'm embarrassed to say accept cookies was not checked. I don't know how it got unchecked because I didn't do it, and no once else uses the computer. I also thought that would affect all sites I logged into not just google and superuser. However the fact that Superuser.com was giving me the beta screen should have been a dead give away that it was a cookie problem. Thanks for you help.

You can try that, but the host computer should be handing out IP addresses for computer connected to the wireless network and the slave computer should connect using the settings of the host. Actually now that I think about it, put the proxy settings in the slave computer.

Does your wired LAN connection have the hand under the icon. The one that indicates you are sharing the Wired connection?

@pelms good link, at least now I would consider it a duplicate question. Maybe it was closed because it was worded poorly? I know when they close questions they don't have a lot of of options to choose from to display as the reason. Maybe the closer should add a comment to elaborate on why they closed it. This would at least help users understand how to improve their questions.
