comment Make formula depend on key word entered in another cell
Is the main thing you're missing the "turn AFAM etc. into a date as in 2015-12-24"-part? If so, check out the built in help on the LOOKUP function.

comment Prevent excel from reformatting values
The reason for the "obscure number" is simple. You seem to be using Excel on a machine having its decimal separator set to "comma" and also the separator in dates to "dot" (Germany for example). Thus Excel assumes your "four and a half" has to be written "4 comma 5". As soon as you turn it to "4 dot 5", it thinks you are talking about the 4th of May. The (mostly hidden) date representation (you exposed by your formatting) in Excel is the number you are getting. It is numbering days since the 1st of January 1900 (which is "1") btw. ;-)

comment Windows 7 - Connecting to PC on same network asking for username and password
not sure if net use works without a drive letter. So in case it does not work, try net use x: \\bro-pc\c$ and check if you get a drive X: after entering credentials

comment Windows mousepointer pointing up to the right
Comparing your description of the regular pointer i would guess you are talking about the "select whole line" pointer (mirror image of the normal mouse cursor) you can get in Outlook or Notepad++ for example, when moving to a certain area left of the line.

Since the link you provided is for Vista, take a look at this, it goes into more detail and is specifically for Win7: windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/…

comment I am trying to insert a function in my VBA code to only fill a cell when another cell has data in it
This site is fully about helping you write that condition, but you should try to get a bit further maybe. If you try and run into an issue, this is the place to go and ask for help. But it is up to you to do the trying. ;-) However you already got an answer, but i think your question does not show enough effort. No worries though, no offense meant! You would have learnt and benefited more trying a bit harder i believe (and you already had the search word you needed: "condition").

Have you tried googling for "vba condition"? Because this site is not a free macro writing service.

comment Ubuntu Lenovo boots to “PXE-E61 Media Test Failure - Check Cable” (Please help)
Your boot order seems okay at least, the message you are getting means it has tried everything else (1 through 8) and complains about your last boot device (PCI LAN = Your network card) not having a network cable plugged in. Plugging a network cable in will not solve your problem though!

comment Excel Equation: How to skip cell value if row header contains certain text
Not sure if i understand your need exactly, but a combination of SUMIF should enable you to do the trick. SUM cell in column L IF cell in column A does not say "Inventory..." and (or plus) SUM cell in column J IF it does.
