comment unable to connect to virtualbox machine via ssh
No error message. I guess it hangs. Per pastebin.com/CPXCUS15 I think it'd be most accurate to say that it blocks on the fread() call (it shouldn't).

comment unable to connect to virtualbox machine via ssh
Here's how I'm trying to connect: pastebin.com/CPXCUS15 As for the HOST IP... ifconfig says 10.0.2.15 but I'm using virtualbox to attach the virtual network adapter via NAT so I think in-so-far as everything else it's concerned it's 192.168.1.34 I guess..

comment unable to connect to virtualbox machine via ssh
Here's the outut of sudo iptables -L: pastebin.com/ykP05PUV sudo iptables -F did nothing. And it seems to me that since I installed SSH via sudo apt-get install openssh-server that that ought to have taken care of the iptables stuff anyway?
