comment Save output to a text file from Mac terminal
&>> doesn't seem to work in Mac Bash version 3.2.48(1)-release (x86_64-apple-darwin11). I when I try it, it says -bash: syntax error near unexpected token >. Everything else works.

comment How can I change the default Python version on Snow Leopard?
This is similar to what I did. But instead I put the link in /usr/bin and called it "python" (overriding the old "python" executable that Apple put there). So: sudo ln -s /path/to/2.7 /usr/bin/python. This is the way it is done in Linux and it just makes sense.
