comment How do I stop the win+# hotkey from minimizing the focused window?
Oh snap, the comments were collapsed when I answered! If I get around to it, I'll try to actually make a script that behaves with focused windows.

comment How can I find the size of a folder using Powershell?
You need to use -force to list hidden files. And you can make the units part of the tokenized string, "{0:N2} MB", to avoid a string concatenation.

YES! that last command set the ftype (I checked with the command ftype txtfile) and when I opened a txt file, Windows asked me to associate it with a program. I chose Notepad. and it opened normally!

Here's the output of the commands you noted... c:\>assoc .txt => .txt=txtfile AND c:\>ftype txtfile => File type 'txtfile' not found or no open command associated with it.

I "open" a txt file by double-clicking on it or right-clicking and choosing Open.

I'm thinking Remote Desktop Services has something to do with it... I'm not a server guy, check your "Roles". goo.gl/NG5zJ

comment Cannot set a file association to a program that I manually moved to Program Files
I'm having this problem with any application that doesn't have an installer. That I put in Program Files manually (for example, Reflector for opening .dll files).

I can logoff of the guest from the Start Menu > Logoff. I cannot logoff using the command from the RDC Manager tool.

comment How to start a virtual machine via a scheduled task?
Using just the script as the task "program" opens in Notepad... even though it has a PowerShell icon. I don't want to mess with this behavior, so I use the PowerShell program and argument.

comment How to start a virtual machine via a scheduled task?
I can execute the batch file from the command line, but it is not working from Scheduled Tasks even with highest privileges.

There is no virtualpc.exe in Windows Virtual PC (for Windows 7). There is a vpc.exe (the process that shows in Task Manager when VPC is running). The Start Menu shortcut "Windows Virtual PC" goes to vmwindow.exe. And XP Mode style application shortcuts are vmsal.exe.
