I love solving problems and making people's day. I also enjoy mentoring and volunteer regularly on the Rails Hotline. Ruby on Rails has been my development framework of choice since 2007, but I also love working in Javascript, doing Linux sysadmin, and tinkering with things like IPv6 and GPG. I aim to regularly make meaningful contributions to the free open source software community.

I also suggest adding the --wrap-launchctl option, as this is needed for launchctl to work in the same situations.

comment ip-up does not trigger when using built-in cisco vpn on mac osx lion
This works with a PPTP VPN, but not the built in Cisco IPsec VPN, which the OP was asking for.

That got rid of the error, but the script didn't run still on OSX.

Works on Linux, fails on OSX. Writing to a tempfile for OSX instead.

On Mavericks, it is in the system keychain, under the name of the VPN connection.

I'd like to point out that it's a bad idea to keep that password in your startup script. Instead you can keep it in your keychain. See widerin.org/blog/secure-your-dropbox. Eg: encfs --ondemand --extpass="security 2>&1 >/dev/null find-generic-password -gl encfs | grep password | cut -d \\\" -f 2" encrypted_dir unencrypted_mount_dir
