comment Prefer text/plain attachment to text/html attachment in Thunderbird?
Another good option is to select Simple HTML. This often provides clearer view than Original HTML, yet without the oversimplification of Plain Text

Thunderbird version 31 once again has broken the setting, so now this trick is obsolete...

comment Finding out if a FLAC or WAVPACK audio file is NOT originally encoded from a lossy source
Of course, one could add high frequency noise to the audio decoded from the lossy compressed file before encoding into a lossless file, but that is probably too much of a trouble, so this method is pretty cool for 99% of the cases :-)

comment modify login prompt or header (/etc/issue) to display ip address of the machine
The IP address can be just looked up with host. However, I'd agree that some complex NAT configurations might make a simple lookup not that useful.

comment modify login prompt or header (/etc/issue) to display ip address of the machine
Why would someone need to look at the IP address of a remote system after having connected to that system? (that's on the question of modifying the /etc/issue.net)

comment RAM capacity vs power consumption in S3 Suspend-to-RAM mode
Shiki, I have seen that before posting this. The question linked by you is about active RAM power consumption. The accepted answer deals with Watts used for data transfers, not for data stored while the computer is suspended.

How come? Doesn't each new trigger holding that extra bit of data need some nano-amperes of electricity to hold the data regardless of which IC it is on?
