On daily basis I deploy, maintain and support one of the largest CDNs in the world. I enjoy working on projects involving automation, monitoring, analysing and tweaking *nix system performance, troubleshooting networks, tinkering with virtualisation, etc.

I've had this happen to me twice in the past. I'd rather set it up the way that takes out the potential for guesswork out of the process in the future.

I hate to be the RTFM guy but if you checked what the command I gave you did, you'd probably have found out how to change it to do just what you wanted. man find

Also, if you're transferring large files, I'd suggest adding --partial flag to the command suggested by asamarin in case something interrupts a transfer of a large file.

Updated packages may be downloaded in the background, only the installation could require authorisation but don't get stuck on it, since it's only one of the possibilities. Have you actually checked the result of this command?

By giving ZFS the entire drive, you're also accepting the risk that if in the future you'll need to replace the drive that failed and the replacement you'll buy has even one sector fewer than the old disk, you won't be able to use it. IMO, a better practice is to create a partition that's a slightly smaller than the entire disk. Such margin would allow you to use other disk models of the "same" capacity.

comment How to prove that an email has been sent?
I don't know about others but I consider requesting read/return receipts a rude practice and would never send them back or use an MUA that sends them by default.
