@Kwaio I'm still a little skeptical, why would our professor teach such a technique which splits the range equally. It feels stupid!

@MichaelKjörling "sometimes you actually need a large number of publicly routable addresses" would you please provide an example?

@MichaelKjörling I have a doubt. It may sound silly, but still. Why does a company buy so many ip addresses, instead of just buying one address and performing DHCP/NAT with private addresses. I believe this would save a lot?

@Hennes 30 computers was just arbitrary. Guess, I should've said 30 systems. And I know about CIRD, but our syllabus includes even the retro stuff. Thanks!

@DavidSchwartz I'm just trying to work with a presumptive situation. That is what most of networking is about, isn't it? Trying to figure out the best outcome using only available(affordable) devices.

I've laid emphasis on "networks of different classes".

@ScottChamberlain Currently he's teaching the basics of networking. I'm confident that he was talking about Class-# networks. i.e. Class-C for Institutions, Class-B for Corporates, etc. But I didn't know that that method was replaced by CIDR. Thanks for the info!

Hi! thanks for the answer. As far as I've read, your answer is the best. It would be awesome if you could include some more concepts like ARP and NAT within your scenario.
