Hmmm didn't work. I played around with the file path too @_@ tried things like $TMPDIR and such. Might play with it more later when I get the chance.

comment How to shift unique values down a column to the same value in another column?
This is a terrific answer. Thanks for mentioning that slight flaw because it does create some problems, but we'll see if we can adapt the code to fit our needs. I'll also update if I get a working solution that fixes that slight bug. For now though, I'm accepting this answer. Thanks a lot :)

Yeah as I expected if I have values not listed in column 1 that aren't mentioned in column 2, it simply deletes them... that's pretty tragic :/ it does help with my situation though. Anyway we can make it so that if it finds a value that isn't in column 2, it simply appends it to the end of column 1?

Not sure if this works for all cases... you clear column A? I think what I meant to say is column B has those values but sometimes not all of em. If there was a value in column A that wasn't in column B, we'd like to know about that

Hmmm interesting. If it were aggressive power management, would it be something I need to worry about?

Well CCleaner lets you backup your registry files (I always do that) so if things go south you can always go back. Is there more reason to not use CCleaner though?

Thanks a lot for your answer! Just wondering so if you were to reformat, would you only have to do it for your data partition? I sometimes find myself having a lot of extraneous files; I make sure to back up the ones I need but all the others I much rather just reformat. I end up having to reinstall the OS though which is a pain so if this is the case, I think I might consider going this route.
