comment How to find what channel the SSID is on
@AngyHacker I'm getting 4 out of 5 bars on the Win7 indicator for -60. If you look at the "time graph" window it is colour coded. -20 is well into the green! RSSI is in negative dB's so the lower the number the better the signal.

comment Why do my Windows Date and Time Format Settings impact the default Language for Applications?
+1 for the question! I have the same problem in Spain - even Firefox add-ons goes to the Spanish language page. Changing time zone / location / language to UK does not seem to make a difference. (Win7)

comment Best usage for a laptop being used as a desktop without removable batteries
no sorry. It always seems to sit at 80% with the power supply plugged in. Unplug it and the battery discharges. Plug it in again and it goes back up to 80%. Only annoyance really is remembering to 100% charge it if you want maximum time on battery. To do that you have to change the set-up. I rarely need that so leave it in battery saver as default.

The Sony Vaio laptop has software with it that does just that - limits the battery charge to 80% so you seem to be thinking on the right lines.

comment Battery life with i3 vs. i5 vs. i7
My i5 Sony Vaio has an interesting feature built in that further reduces the battery working time by stopping charging at 80% !! You can disable it but as I mostly work with mains power connected I've left it in "battery care" mode as it supposedly prolongs the life of the battery.

It's built into my Sony Vaio software. Are you sure you don't have a similar utility on your PC?
