comment How can I convince an older person to at least **try** to learn how to use a PC?
+1 for Mark´s suggestion. Go the Apple route if possible. He sounds as if he is scared of being made to look foolish if something goes wrong. It´s like asking me to dance...

comment Firefox 32: Download fails; cannot read from source
I had a problem accessing a file on my banking site with FF32.0. I was able to access it with IE, so you may be right about a bug. As FF32.0 is new I´d decided to wait a while before digging deeper as it may be an add-on clash.

comment how to see pdf files in firefox window without disabling IDM
Foxit Reader Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape - works for me. For a better answer you´d need to specify which reader you use. I think it may install during the Foxit installation rather than as a separate etension.

comment Is software like tune up utilities essential?
Using such a program means you don´t have to remember all the built in options and makes accessing things like the start-up manager easier. I find "TweakNow" quicker as I only use it every month or so. Others will have their favourites!

comment How to save a section of a pdf
I just tried doing the same in Foxit Reader and it works in the same way using its inbuilt PDF printer. You could try looking in your reader print menu for a similar option.

comment How to use a home network patch panel?
Think also of more than one cable to a room in different places. Then if you change the room layout you can simply move a patch cord to connect the socket you require, or even use both. It gives you a lot more flexibility at little extra cost when building.
