comment Mystery scroll wheel input only during certain time of day
It might be worth having a look in your Windows Update history (via the Windows Update icon in control panel) and see if anything was installed about 2 weeks ago when it started. I'd be looking at display driver related things. (Also, I'd be checking to see if any of my colleagues were sniggering while it was playing up, just saying).

comment Save and use handle to application console output
Check start_bukkit.bat for a line that says exit (just that) if so, delete or precede it with rem. Then try just running start_bukkit.bat instead of start start_bukkit.bat

comment Column order in stacked bar chart is the the opposite from spreadheet
Hey, look at that, LibreOffice calls the axis that goes up and down the "X axis", how singular. I meant the axis that you wish to change the order of.

Are the hosts the same manufacturer and hardware? (or does the odd one have a different CPU, etc)

comment What's stopping me granting network users read/write access to a WHS 2011 share?
You say "saving new files to the Public folder", this means that you're copying them onto the server? Copy one in there, then remote in and check the Owner of the file before you move it (properties / security / advanced / Owner) and the Public folder itself. This may give a clue. When you connect to the share from your PC does it prompt for username and password? Is it mapped (on the client) as a shared drive? (e.g. S: or something).

comment Remote Desktop - Not Working From One Network to Another
Most new ADSL modems block all traffic other than your basic internet protocols. Most also have a relatively trivial way of enabling remote desktop. Not necessarily going to be an easy thing to talk her through though.
