comment thinkpad sl400c laptop not booting up
Your MBR seems fine, if you are sure that you can not access the menu F8 & F10, chances are your boot order in your bios has changed, should be able to access to Lenovo bios menu by pressing F1 on startup, in any case if proper reconfigure your BIOS boot sequence fails, you can use the tools "Lenovo bios update", which will add functionality in addition to put order in your system startup.

The APIs is fine, I tested the link, simply should replace "document_start" with "document_end" in the file manifest.json

Almost certainly your code snippet is wrapped in a container other than those listed in the variable types, you should locate your tags and add nodes name in the array types. If you pass me a link with code snippet, I could locate the problem and modify the code for you.

comment Linux Mint is rebooting while screen is locked, how do I go about debugging/fixing it?
additional controls that should be added is to disable any power management software and screensaver, to rule out any unknown bug in some software incompatibility not installed by default in Mint.

Please try reinstalling pm-utils, # apt-get install --reinstall pm-utils then after that ensure that in the file /usr/lib/pm-utils/defaults there is no such assignment: HIBERNATE_MODE="shutdown"

comment What is the Linux equivalent of Fiddler?
@Jeff F. I am sorry to say that your answer is not corect, Firebug is just a browser traffic analyzer , if that is a application level. Wireshark is a interface level(sniffer interface) and can capture all kind of traffic and protocols, including USB traffic. +1 Wireshark Long live!

comment Virtualizing networking appliance with qemu or similar
And in the last link I've provided, you can get your information as set your "TAP" to get good performance in emulation. I guess that you know how to launch a kernel compiled in QEMU, but I do not know if you want to emulate an ARM SoC or an ARM MPU, I hope not to offend your knowledge if I pass a generic link on implementation of an ARM core emulation using QEMU. ...I just try to be helpful

Yes sir, I have imagined you had experience with OpenWRT,and for this very reason I voted positively your question, the answer I tried, favoring three links, which allow a general approach and also useful to other users without their knowledge, and also I have focused on answering to your question, "if you can have similar features in emulation", according to my personal experience with routerboards, I have answered it if you can.

comment How can I make a Linux USB installation persistent from a running instance
Well, as I said before, may have mainly two types of changes, but some changes may be more complex to make persistent that its reconfiguration, due that your persistence will be housed in a new partition. But if you only need to export your settings Firefox, can make a merge your folder ~/.mozilla and will saved all your plugins. +1 for running instance

Sure! I saw that you changed your question; If the changes made are the OS I'm afraid you must reassemble the working partition in RW, if the change affects only the end user, you may export your personal folder in a safe place, install a persistent version and then retrieve its configuration.
