For the past couple years I've been mostly developing web applications in Django. Python has become my go-to language, but I also have years of experience with C/C++, Java, PHP and a few others.
When I have some spare time, I like to mix things up and play around with Clojure. I'm also interested in machine learning and statistical data mining, but mostly as a hobby right now.
All of my personal systems run Linux (typically Ubuntu) as it tends to suit my tinkering nature more so than other operating systems. I try hard not to be dogmatic about such things, however.
I enjoy good discussions on programming, architecture and other software engineering topics. I pride myself in being pragmatic, curious, skeptic, practitioner, craftsman.

Why would I check my download against a checksum provided by a mirror site? Wait, you have friends that understand what a checksum is? My friends would just look at me funny and then ask if I could make their PC run fast again after having downloaded a World of Warcraft trojan. |

Why would I check my download against a checksum provided by a mirror site? I always thought it would be nice if Firefox or other browsers would compute a checksum for you. |

Firefox: How to speed up the Smart Location Bar (AwesomeBar)? What add-ons do you have installed? I'm having the same issue on my home desktop and it even seems to lose keystrokes consistently. I'm wondering if it could be related to a particular add-on. |

I've just installed Ubuntu 9.04 and Gnome's not showing any window controls Do you have Compiz enabled? If so, what's it look like w/o Compiz? |

Firefox 3.5.2 on Ubuntu Jaunty You can also change /usr/bin/firefox to link to firefox-3.5 instead of firefox-3.0 by doing "sudo rm /usr/bin/firefox; sudo ln -s /usr/bin/firefox-3.5 /usr/bin/firefox", though updates to the firefox-3.0 package tend to undo the link. |

Is there an easy way to use Vim text-objects on camel case words? Thanks, guess I was too hung up on there possibly being a built-in solution to think of looking for a script! |
