In what timezone did the deadline for the cheap Windows 8 upgrade fall? @Ramhound The PC I purchased does not come with a copy of Windows 7. I have an old copy of Windows XP lying around that I don't use, I plan to upgrade from there. |

How to start a program as administrator through a pinned to taskbar shortcut, through one of the “recent” files Thanks for your answer, this seems to be the answer I'm looking for, but I can't get it to work. I don't have the compatibility tab, but the compatibility troubleshooter solution also doesn't work. It says "Settings applied: User Account Control: Run as administrator". I click "Start the program" and it just starts. I click next and tell it to save the settings. But I still don't get the UAC prompt when I start Visual Studio through the jump list. |

Does the Lenovo t60p vga port support an s-video signal? The converter I ordered didn't work. I ended up getting a cheap android tablet + docking station that could play 720p on my TV through HDMI. Now I have another laptop with Display Port ++ for which I bought a simple cable Display Port to HDMI. Works perfectly. However, about the quality: I'm not really bothered by the quality that much. Ten minutes into the movie and my brain has auto-scaled the size and filtered out the noise :). |

VGA to S-Video/Video converter showing mashed up picture @Iceking007: I solved the problem through a different route. Together with the Archos 5 Internet Tablet I recently acquired, I also purchased the DVR docking station. This docking station has an HDMI output and the tablet supports a 720p resolution (same as my TV). So now I kind of use my tablet as my media center. |
