comment Mac OS: How can I launch the iTerm terminal, with a specific profile, from Automator or AppleScript?
@DanielBeck because I want the OS to behave as if it's another application, the same way it does with Fluid web apps.

comment What arguments does the Mac's Terminal.app accept?
@Lübnah it doesn't immediately help, but you CAN launch Terminal from the command line, as a separate process/app from the Terminal you're already in, with /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app/Contents/MacOS/Terminal

I'd love to see another answer that launches an new iTerm process, not a window in the existing app.

I did not recommend it for silencing purposes, simply as an alternative mounting strategy.

comment Why does the /dev directory exist?
@justcool393 requiring a call means you couldn't use command line file-manipulation tools to interact with the devices. being able to cat to a serial port, or grep /dev/mem, are very powerful capabilities.

seriously, I don't know what you're looking for with this question. Where else would you put all of those things if not in /dev ?

comment Multiple File Splitting in Windows or Linux
You should provide some information on requirements for handling the sub-folders. Is it OK to split up the contents of a single folder? If not, this becomes a knapsack problem.

comment How can I filter meeting requests and other calendar items in Outlook 2011 with a local client-side rule?
@DaveRook My Exchange mailbox is very small. I have all of my mail folders as client side folders so that I do not exceed my quota on the Exchange server, and this means my rules have to be client side rules.
