comment how to verify whether a compressed .gz is corrupted or not?
To know if opening verifies the checksum, we'd need to know what tool you're opening with.

comment Windows 10 - Reboot via RDP (without using the keyboard)
@LonnieBest - is there some specific situation where this is coming up for you? Is there an underlying problem that forces you to not use the keyboard?

comment Windows 10 - Reboot via RDP (without using the keyboard)
@Terry - the admin can shutdown, but not from the start menu where the shutdown is when you are local. I assume that's to minimize accidentally shutting down a remote system.

comment How do I stop ubuntu waiting for me to “Press S to skip of C to continue…” when it fails to mount on startup?
@JonCage - it's sub-optimal because mounts are normally handled through fstab - putting boot-time mount commands in random places makes it harder to understand what your system is doing at startup.

comment Auto uninstall usb drivers on device removal
What's your objective? Because if it's stealth (no one knew you were there), then this isn't going to cut it - the system logs will still have traces.

comment How do I force Remote Desktop Connection to accept user's changed username?
I've discussed this with another engineer. As far as he knows, 'yep, that's what it does'. And the only way to fix it is to add a new user with the desired name, and remove the old one. Why the changed username works locally, and not remotely is a mystery to both of us, but it appears that it's just how it is.

comment How do I force Remote Desktop Connection to accept user's changed username?
@gawity - control panel -> User Accounts -> Change your account name. Which I believe is the same procedure used on both systems I discussed. Is there something else I should be doing? Note again that the problem system DOES allow you to login locally using the changed name.
