comment Is it dangerous to put desktop computers in a stack in a well ventilated room?
Are these machines vertically oriented cases or horizontally oriented cases? Either way I'd be far more nervous about them falling over than anything else (assuming reasonable room temps). Just make sure they are far from the wall on both front and back, and that they don't fall over, and you should be fine. Though I do wonder why you'd want to do this at all.

comment How is double NAT bad practically?
@Hengjie - at that point you're not doing double-NAT, you're doing single NAT with the inner airport in the DMZ. So really a different situation. Which would in fact solve the uPNP issue, but the OP was asking what issues arise from double-NAT, not alternate network topologies.

comment Unable to type in Putty after a few minutes of inactivity?
You might try useing the 'keepalive' option in putty (settings->Connection, set to something > 0). This will cause putty to send empty packets on a regular basis. If the connection goes bad, the keepalive packets will cause the failed connection to be noticed faster.

comment Do we really need to check the integrity of downloaded files?
@maxpesa - I was pointing out that your ISP is in the same position that the Tor exit node in the linked article was - it has the ability to control what comes over your wires. If they wanted to, they are in position to modify the binaries you download on-the-fly.

comment Can I move the image position on a monitor with a DVI connection?
I've never seen such a setting for a digital output video. In the old days, analog video output systems needed these kinds of adjustments to compensate for analog differences in the monitor. With a digital output, there's no leeway for those differences, therefore little need for those adjustments.

Just don't get the larger cache instead of more general improvements such as more RAM or faster HDD.

comment USB flash drive keeps activating 'write protection' by itself. Disarms after unsafe removal
First question: did this drive EVER work correctly? Or has it always had issues? Because if it's always had issues, I'd say it's defective and/or fake. Otherwise, try re-formatting it, then try to scan again. If it still fails, throw it out, it's gone bad.

comment serial port settings for scale model 240878
@Somebody - Ahh, I see. Too bad, but it may be that they simply DON'T work. Good luck on getting something else to go.
