Smart tricky solution :) But I don't believe it takes less than 15 Minutes. By the way, it's hard to automate it, because it requires a user in a graphic interface (so, no scripting is possible = not a Unix way).

However, a drawback of this solution is requirement of superuser rights.

@golimar: but I will need MBR on such drive, I don't know how it's possible to merge different filesystems created separately as distinct files

I don't use Macs, because they provide only limited connectivity (e.g. no HDMI).

And then? I think it's better to read paths from MANPATH variable. But it's awful, because there is a huge number of subdirs and it contains different file extensions like 1 or gz. By the way, many systems have no man.config in /etc

Thank you for your very helpful answer. I thinks that any 45nm quad core should be enough! Awesome arguments, thank you !

comment Vim - how to substitute a word in-place?
I am with vim since many years. A solution presented by Rene is better because it doesn't require typing "yiw" but only usual "yw"="Yank Word". But of course his solution is also bad because it requires key pressing 2+5 times to make only one substitution. Your solution requires pressing 3+4 times.

I don't like this solution because it is counterintuitive; instead of "viwp" different typos happen like "iwvp", "wivp", ... Very bad...

thanks but it is very uncomfortable and it switches edition mode to -Insert-
