comment How to route all DNS traffic to OpenDNS servers using two RT-N66U?
As a sideeffect, a Win8 machine that had the network connection type mistakenly set to Public, stopped working. Once reverted to Private, it started using the DNS given from the internal router (as one would expect).

Modified settings of Default mode router, that are more correct, and also work: RT-N66U operating in Default mode: Administration > Wireless router mode (Default) LAN > DHCP Server > DNS Server > Blank WAN > Connect to DNS Server automatically > No, DNS Server1: 208.67.222.222, DNS Server2: 208.67.220.220

Thanks, now I understand how to troubleshoot, with the DNS cache empty. Only have to learn how to interpret the answer though :-)

LAN DNS setting on Default mode router only has one IP address to hand out, which is now set to OpenDNS. Should that perhaps be left blank ?! Any cmdline tools magic that can trace the DNS traffic ?

comment Using Grub to select boot drive?
I don't want to boot from the added drive. It just happened to have Ubuntu on it, and to my surprise booting started from that drive and not the existing drive with Lubuntu. If I disconnect the added drive all is well and Lubuntu boots up.

Would it be possible, if I enter into Grub commandline, to point to the Lubuntu disk instead ?

Thanks for explaining what's going on ! The problem is that the added Ubuntu drive does not fully boot. It first displays the Grub option , press Esc to enter Grub, then the Ubuntu logo with progressbar, then the screen goes black and is unusable.

I find rsync documentation confusing and contradictory, so I'm asking for the correct options to, on a daily basis syncing two folders, that handles file modifications, new files, renames, deletes, in a sane way.
