Awesome, you don't even need to re-encode, you can tell it to just mux the original dash stream in an MP4. I couldn't even find a standalone utility to do this!

comment Program to encode or mux h.264 streams in a SWF container
First time I vote to close my own question (as off-topic, 'cause I think this kind of question is not welcome anymore in this site and gosh, it's been 4 years, it's not even relevant anymore with HTML5's native support for MKV (.webm) files).

@DavidPostill I'm guessing the name is "Free Video to Flash Converter" - from that name, I'd run the thing through VirusTotal, Anubis and still run it in a VM anyway lol.

Yes, but if you're running a VM, you can have it in the language you want...

comment How to monitor a folder for changes, and execute a command if it does, on Windows?
+1, but I wouldn't say it's a "common requirement" for anyone except us developers... And for that matter, there are system calls to monitor the filesystem, so that counts as "OS integration" I guess.

comment Software to back up application settings in Windows (including XP)
The problem with Windows Easy Transfer is that I'm sure it won't work if e.g., you want to take something from Windows 8 and put it on Windows 7. About the two alternatives you mention, they seem interesting; I wonder if you can customize them. I think that's important because if it can't automatically pick up one app, having a way to tell it which files and directories to pick (or, for that matter, which ones not to) would be an useful feature. Thanks for the answer, though!

Note that \n is line feed (commonly called just "newline", since its first widespread usage was in Unix), and \r is carriage return. Windows uses \r\n (also referred to as CRLF).

comment Lossless compression for movie ISO files?
This answer is not very correct. If the only thing you care for is the movie (not menus, extras, etc.) you can have excellent compression by re-encoding it into another lossy format (DVDs are lossy, even their audio is lossy-compressed).

I like how that's an elegant API. Does it support folders recursively?

comment How can I create a non-login user?
@c4il But the only one that can login into them is root, right? I mean, they don't have a password, so I would expect only root to be able to log into them.

It works fantastically well. But I still can't make sense of the images, lol.
