Mostly a front-end developer, working with html, css and, if really necessary, jQuery/javascript too.
Also delving a bit into php development using the zend framework.
I play in an irish folk band, go birdwatching, and enjoy the music of Aphex Twin and the books of Patrick McCabe.

Selecting whether to dock or quit an app iCal's yet another example where Apple don't follow their own guidelines |

Selecting whether to dock or quit an app @kiamlaluno maybe it's OS version specific as that isn't happening on my machine |

Selecting whether to dock or quit an app to name another, activity monitor completely fails to satisfy these guidelines. Apple, kings of seamless, consistent user experience... I think not! |

Selecting whether to dock or quit an app Apple need to follow their own advice. Some of the apps I'd like to set this preference on are apple's own because they stay running despite not being document based e.g. terminal. And many document based ones (e.g. preview, textedit) don't follow the second half of the guidelines. In fact these guidelines appear to be widely ignored by many apple and 3rd party apps. |

Keyboard layout configuration in MAC OSX is being very buggy @Daniel Beck - the bugs still happen when I choose US - International (English International isn't an option) - it keeps switching the layout to an incorrect one as soon as I press any key. And I don't have the privileges to create another account. I'll ask our IT support to help |

safely remove java, .net, visual c++, MSXML Yep it's cheap, but if you have about 60gig of music, 40 gig of pictures, operating system (maybe 2 or 3 if you want to do testing of web sites across platforms) plus a number of web development and graphics packages installed a standard laptop hard drive of about 250GB quickly fills up |

safely remove java, .net, visual c++, MSXML every time it updates it tends to add about 100MB, sometimes a lot more. When I uninstalled all java updates on my last laptop I managed to save between 0.5 and 1 gig of disk space. |
