daxim is a 34 year old German living in Austria. He has seen programming languages come and go, but Perl stuck. He enjoys doing things with the Web and system programming on Linux and likes consuming well-written documentation as well. He finds testing exciting. Five modules so far found their way to (?:Back|C)PAN.

Hobbies include wiki-gnoming, languages, drinking Club-Mate, music games, majiang and visiting the local Mongers and conferences (see below). He actually had to look up how to write a short bio to remember how to do it because he usually avoids things like that.

Voted up for best answer. Similar but inferior programs: kiso, ISOmorphin, isomaster, furiusisomount and, as KIO slave, kio_iso

comment How do I assign Control_R+Menu to the global kxkb switch action?
Accepting you pro forma because it's close enough and the bounty expires tomorrow. Of course I use a modern key mapper instead of xmodmap. The future shall reveal whether I really can dispense with a logical Menu key or whether this will turn out to be a mistake.

comment Repair encoding of ID3 tags
mid3v2 is only half the solution. After trying it, it is definitely not good with with the misidentified encodings I am suffering from, i.e. an upgraded ID3 tag still displays wrong in Amarok. Mutagen fails my requirement about »smart about figuring out the original encoding«; it blithely assumes Latin1/Windows-1252, which is standard conformant, but useless for the messy real world. I am inclined to not accept this answer right now; I'll give a few more days opportunity for other answers. If nothing good comes, you get accepted.

comment How do I hook up my computer speakers to my Playstation 2?
PS2 doesn't have a headphone jack, but only the proprietary combined A/V and a separate digital out. I'll look for this adapter cable.
