comment How to set Windows XP pagefile beyond 4096 MB?
@Ramhound: Some 32 bit operating systems can use more than 4GB of RAM and more than 4GB of page files -- 32-bit Windows XP can't, but other 32 bit operating systems (such as i386 Linux with PAE enabled) can. So it's not necessary to install a 64 bit operating system to use a larger page file.

comment Linux filesystem with inodes close on the disk
Thank you for mentioning btrfs. Unfortunately I couldn't find the feature you mentioned. spinics.net/lists/linux-btrfs/msg05617.html says that in July 2010 this was not possible. Could you please cite your source stating otherwise.

comment How to TRIM/DISCARD a whole SSD partition on Linux?
Thank you for the tip! FYI After TRIMming, writes some blocks with metadata for an empty ext4 filesystem, so the a few percent of the partition remains unTRIMmed.

comment Full HD video playback acceleration with mplayer on Ubuntu Lucid
Intel's video driver supports accelerated video decoding (intellinuxgraphics.org/h264.html) with a fork of mplayer (gitorious.org/vaapi/mplayer) The minimum Linux kernel version seems to be 3.2.x, which is not available for Ubuntu Lucid.
