comment Cut (smart edit) .mts (AVCHD Progressive) files un Ubuntu Lucid
@slhck: No, I don't have space for a lossless format or intra-frame only, and I also don't have the for that very slow conversion. Can you recommend an ffmpeg command-line which doesn't distort, but it keeps the original video stream?

comment How to TRIM/DISCARD a whole SSD partition on Linux?
@joe: Your ATA Secure Erase link doesn't even mention parititions. I don't want to erase the entire drive, just a partition. And I don't want to risk accidentally erasing the whole drive.

comment Log HTTP and HTTPS browser traffic, decrypting the latter
Firebug+NetExport work like a charm for me on Linux. They export SSL traffic unencrypted (just as I wished). I'd be happy to accept your answer, but please remove all other propositions (or move them to a separate answer) first.

Which of the tools you mention can save a dump of all logged communication to disk? httpFox can't. httpScoop is Mac-only, and I was asking for a Linux solution. httpWatch is Windows-only, and I was asking for a Linux solution. Fiddler is Windows-only, and I was asking for a Linux solution. Charles Proxy is Mac-only, and I was asking for a Linux solution. Thank you for mentioning Firebug+NetExport, that can potentially work.

comment Recursive filesystem notifications (inotify) for Ubuntu Karmic Koala
I need solution which is fast to load (at reboot) and doesn't have race conditions. My filesystem indeed has about 1 million files in 10000 folders. Thus iwatch and inotifywatch don't work for me.
