Thanks, Tom. I didn't notice your answer until after I had already posted mine, otherwise I would've just edited yours. Thanks for the support; I'll add a link to Junction Link Magic in my answer.

comment Will VMWare perform better on a 4 core CPU?
Your original question was off-topic per the SuperUser FAQ, which explicitly states that SuperUser is not for buying recommendations. However, I think your question is a good one and am curious myself, so rather than voting to close it, I edited it to be more general about the performance differences between a quad and dual core processor in virtualization, rather than just an individual buying recommendation. This should keep it from being closed as off-topic, while still getting you the information you need. :)

Edited question from being a specific hardware recommendation (which is off-topic per FAQ) to be more generally about virtualization performance differences between quad and dual core processors

comment Wireless Network: How Secure?
I'm not an Apple/iOS platform developer, so I don't know any of the specifics, but it seems like there are products out there which use the charging/USB connector to do more than just charge and sync with the computer - I've seen credit card readers and other devices attached through that port. It would take some hardware development, but is that a potentially viable path to look into?

comment Windows crashing
What is the specific error causing the bluescreen? It is possible that it's related to this problem; for example, if you are getting BSODs from bad video drivers, that might indicate that you have a larger problem with your video drivers which could be causing this as well.

@imotama, nice answer! I've heard about this GV desktop app which will probably never be released, and it makes me very sad. :(

As a side note, any idea why the formatting's gone all wonky? EDIT: nvm, fixed it by modifying formatting of the quoted bulleted list.

Sounds like a good compromise. I hope you understand that I wasn't trying to put down your answer at all, which is specifically why I didn't downvote. It's a very helpful answer; I was just looking to promote fairness and transparency, hence the edits to clarify, etc. Thanks for your contribution!

@Harpreet: there is nothing wrong with quoting an answer from elsewhere. And yes, I would upvote the original post. You're not stealing anybody's points, and acknowledging that it was a quote and linking to the source was well done. My point was that you were getting credit for an answer which was almost entirely somebody else's. For an answer which was directly copied, community wiki seemed like a good solution since it allows other users to add to/edit the quote, and prevents any contention over votes, since CW posts don't earn/lose rep.
