comment Secure video chat program as an alternative to Skype
True, but likewise, Windows Live Messenger video chat is subject to the eyes of Microsoft. I suppose it's up to you who you trust more, but I'd say either one has risks, but probably doesn't care, and probably doesn't keep that many hours of video when they don't need to.

comment How can I download the .mp3 file from Dropbox?
Ohhhh... That sort of information can be useful, and while it is sort of implied in your question, would have been good to explicitly state. With the page open in firefox, you should be able to click "File" -> "Save As". If that doesn't work, could you post whatever isn't working about that method?

Could you be a little more specific about what happens when "it doesn't work"? That's the proper way to do it and is how it should work, so it would be useful to know what happens.

comment Simple way to compare processors
Of course, another thing to keep in mind is that most processors today are more powerful than what any normal (or even a lot of power) users need.

comment Is there a router that can take a wireless signal, and connect wired devices?
Tomato can also act as a wireless bridge, and according to some people, is more stable than DD-WRT. It's not supported on as many routers, but for those that do support it, it's quite nice.

comment Why don't all Core i5/i7 laptops have Optimus? Are their Intel HD graphics accessible?
While initially it seems unintuitive that the graphics processing portion just sits there unused, it really does make sense when considered from a broader perspective. If Intel had to produce two separate lines of chips, one with and one without integrated graphics, it would actually make all of the processors more expensive - it's much cheaper for them to just make them all the same. Good luck searching for a laptop! SuperUser doesn't encompass hardware recs, but there are many sites out there which could help you.

comment windows command line: can I tell Service pack number?
Awesome tool, thanks for sharing! @Thr4wn, according to Wikipedia, WMIC is not available on Windows XP Home Edition, but is available on XP Pro and all later versions of Windows.

comment windows command line: can I tell Service pack number?
I know; that's what I stated in my answer. If the key doesn't exist, then there is no service pack, thus it is SP0. If the key does exist, it'll tell you the service pack. So either way, you can figure out what service pack (if any) is installed.
