comment Need an app that tells about file & folder sizes
+1, great suggestion! I use the equivalent software on Windows for exactly this purpose. I updated your link to go to the manufacturer's website directly, rather than to the 3rd party review site, as that'll be more helpful to people viewing your answer :)

comment Laptop warranty expiration
Ooh, I've got one of those too, but sadly the warranty expired ages ago. It's served me fairly well, but I'm looking forward to replacing it. Agreed with digitxp that if it runs fine, there isn't really much you can/should do.

I don't see why third party software would do any better of a job. Windows' backup tool does a full image backup - it can even restore to a completely new hard drive and everything will be back exactly how it was; I've done that before. I haven't personally used TimeMachine, but I've seen others use it, and it can do the same thing - full backup of the entire partition. The hard drive could literally explode into fire, and if you had used either of these backups, you could have your computer running just as it was as soon as you got a new hard drive.

comment How do I create a bootable USB Flash PcRepair Kit?
I would definitely recommend pendrivelinux's multiboot tool. The latest version will even create all of the GRUB entries for you; it's fantastic!

Hardware virtualization does not require either a 64-bit guest OS nor a 64-bit host OS.
