comment Firefox shortcut key for search “tabs from other windows” functionality?
It wasn't very obvious. I couldn't see any indication of a shortcut, so I pressed a key and presto, there it was. The hover text should say include something like (start typing to start searching). That would make it a little more obvious.

comment Links won't open in Outlook
Well, that certainly explains the first error message you reported. If Chrome isn't in the default programs list it can't be used as the default browser. But it doesn't explain why it's not there. It looks like an installation bug. This question superuser.com/questions/51264/… explains how to put it there, but I think it might be simpler to uninstall then install Chrome. Sorry that's not more help.

comment Firefox 11.0 Right-Click Dropdown Menu (and Menu Options at Window Top) Flickering - Potential Bug?
This might be the problem you have bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=694904.

It's hard to say what's going on. You can try searching the Firefox bug list at bugzilla.mozilla.org to see if your problem has been reported. If not, you can report it there. Firefox developers do pay attention to bugs reported, though not every bug will get immediate attention.

comment can't replace ? in csv file?
This is the right answer. I accidentally upvoted the comment that said it doesn't work and can't remove my upvote, so please ignore it.

comment Why is it auto spell check isn't enabled for Title/Subject
The multi-line text field and the single-line text field are different types of elements on a web page. The developers chose to add spell checking to the multi-line text field only. I dug around on the Firefox developer site for a bit but I couldn't find out why.

comment Visual Studio 2010 - Text cursor disappearing
Do you mean the cursor is changing from the vertical bar (which sits between two characters) to the block cursor (which covers a character). If that's the case, then you are pressing the Insert key and toggling between insert and over-type modes.

+1 just for letting me know that Ctrl-Alt-V invokes paste special. That will save me time every day.

comment How do I decrypt WPA2 encrypted packets using Wireshark?
At the risk of asking a dumb question, are you sure the network is configured for pre-shared mode? According to the linked page "WPA/WPA2 enterprise mode decryption is not yet supported".

comment How to save Windows Hibernation image
Consider this: you have an open file (say in your word processor), you save a hibernate state, you then type something and save the file, then you restore the hibernate state which restores the state of the word processor data but doesn't change the state of the file on the disk, you type something else (say in another part of the document) and save the file. You've then written over the file from the first save and lost some data. Now perhaps you can keep track of this, but the same thing is likely to occur behind the scenes in other applications resulting in unpredictable data loss.

comment Windows 7 Sub-Folders hidden in “Program Files” directory
Actually, it's the OS itself that does this, not the .NET framework. See the "for further details" link in Bob's answer.

comment When pinging, the ping responses come from random domain names, but the same IP address?
The 192.168.0.1 nameserver might be the address of your router; it's a pretty common default. If that's the case, you should have a look at the router configuration to see if it's doing anything with DNS requests.
