comment 32 vs. 64-bit ODBC Administor Utilities
Is this a typo? Are the paths inverted? - No Microsoft just did things really weird.

comment How to use svn-client on RHEL5 after the server disabled SSLv3?
Did you already update the openssl on the RHEL5 box? Did that include updating or recompiling svn?

comment Chrome for Windows 8 Blocks Insecure Content with No Option to Allow
@Ƭᴇcʜιᴇ007 I am not sure that old question applies here. Chrome uses Certificate pinning for the Google owned domains. I don't think you can simply bypass it using the generic methods.

comment Reinstalling linux without Re-Encrypting
How exactly is your system doing encryption? There are several methods. What Linux distribution do you use? One thing to consider, since your system was already encrypted you could just do a standard re-install including rebuilding the crypto, just make sure you skip the step to encrypt the entire drive. Since your system was already encrypted re-encrypting all that free space that would be pointless.

comment Merge in snapshot vmdks in vmware workstation
Does the VM still boot? Are you sure your VMDK wasn't created with the option to split files at 4GB (which is the default)?

comment how to force 10baseT after negotiation fails
You tested that all 4 pairs were properly terminated? How exactly did you test? A multimeter really isn't very useful for checking network cables.

comment Why doesn't my router let me forward ports outside of 192.168.x.x range?
Why doesn't my router let me forward ports outside of 192.168.x.x range? - Because you have a consumer router, which has controls in place to prevent typical consumers from doing silly things like use NAT to redirect traffic to networks outside your control. This could be use for lots of evil/abusive things. Though it isn't clear what you want, it seems highly likely that you are attempting to do something the wrong way.

comment how to force 10baseT after negotiation fails
It seems highly likely that your 25 meter cable is badly or incorrectly made. If you have a cable tester, then test it. If you don't have one, then simply buy a new cable.

What could allow a someone/bot to send an email under our domain name? - Google SPF, then set it up. That is about all you can realistically do.

comment Documents are marked as Executable
To fix your /home perms from a chmod 777 you would want to do something like this. find /home -type d -print0 | xargs --null chmod 0750 ; find /home -type f -print0 | xargs --null chmod 0640.

comment Puppet Agent fails to run install.bash
Ah, I didn't notice the error. Does your agent need to use a proxy to get to your puppet server? Have you checked the lots on your proxy? Have you checked the server logs on the puppet server?

comment Puppet Agent fails to run install.bash
If you run curl -k https://<mymasterserverFQDN>:8140/packages/current/el-6-x86_64.bash all by itself, what do you see? Hopefully the contents of your install script right?

comment ssh sessions becoming unresponsive, server still shows user logged in
It is typically a timeout in the NAT or state tracking feature of a firewall/router, not a timeout on the server/client. The state gets dropped breaking the connection, but no resets are sent to either the server or client. Enabling keepalives basically forces your client to send a small packet every minute or so, however you configure it. That way the client and server can know connection was interrupted.

comment ssh sessions becoming unresponsive, server still shows user logged in
for an hour or so while working on something else... but the session is totally unresponsive - Configure keepalives on the server and/or clients. This answer deals with the client side. serverfault.com/questions/264108/…

comment Setup PPTP to access home network transparently
The Multicast DNS uses multicast addresses that are not routable. IE Bonjour/Avahi is not going to work across a router. You are going to need to use another name resolution protocol.

OpenVPN is extremely flexible, you could certainly do that, or you could do many other things depending on your requirements. Please spend some time doing the reading.
